Although your bills are sent to your home or post
office box, the procedure for paying bills is different
than in the United States and Canada. In Costa Rica
you may pay your phone, electricity, water and cable
TV bills at any supermarket, at some banks or by going
directly to the company that issues the bill. Nobody
sends a check by mail to pay bills in Costa Rica. Some
banks are starting to allow you to pay bills online.
Check with your local bank to see if it offers this
service.
