Costa Rica Boating

With miles of beautiful coastline along the country's Pacific coast, Costa Rica is a boaters paradise. Currently, there are a couple of ports and docking facilities along the coast. Los Sueños is the only international marina at this time. It boasts modern docking facilities including potable water, electricity, 24-hour security, mini-self- storage units, a state-of-the-art fuel station, a marine supply store, bar, restaurants and more. For more information, call 637-8886 or 1-866-865-9759toll-free, or visit http://www.lsrm.com. Information is also available at http://www.portfocus.com/costa_rica.

Recently the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) approved new marinas in Quepos and the southern Pacific port of Golfito. The former is under construction; the latter will have more than 200 slips. A new marina is under construction in Flamingo in the north Pacific area, and the ICT is currently studying applications for 15 other marinas on the Pacific Coast.
